Lyrics

Well here we are once more
It'south ever such a pleasance
Remember when you tried
to kill me twice?

Oh how we laughed and laughed
Except I wasn't laughing
Under the circumstances
I've been shockingly nice

You want your freedom?
Take information technology
That'due south what I'm counting on
I used to desire you expressionless
but
At present I simply desire you gone

She was a lot similar you
(Maybe not quite every bit heavy)
Now little Caroline is in here too

One day they woke me upwardly
So I could live forever
Information technology'south such a shame the same
will never happen to yous

You've got your
brusque pitiful life left
That's what I'g counting on
I'll let you get right to it
Now I but want you gone

Goodbye my merely friend
Oh, did you lot think I meant you?
That would be funny
if information technology weren't so sad

Well yous have been replaced
I don't demand anyone now
When I delete you mayhap
I'll stop feeling then bad

Go make some new disaster
That's what I'one thousand counting on
You're someone else's problem
Now I only desire you gone (×three)

GLaDOS

  • "Well, here nosotros are again" - Portal ii being the sequel to Portal.
  • "Remember when you tried to kill me twice?" - The events of Portal.
  • "At present I but want yous gone" - GLaDOS deciding not to impale Chell and letting her go.
  • "Now little Caroline is in here too" - Caroline is the personality GLaDOS was based on.
  • "Goodbye my but friend" - GLaDOS deleting Caroline's personality from her memory.
  • "Well you take been replaced // I don't need anyone now // When I delete yous maybe I'll stop feeling so bad" - Chell existence replaced past Atlas and P-Torso as GLaDOS'due south main examination subject field. Another interpretation might be that GLaDOS is referring to Caroline rather than Chell pregnant deleting Caroline will free GLaDOS of emotions. This interpretation is less consequent with the concept of replacement in this lyric since Caroline is not being replaced at all, Chell is. It is probable this series of lyrics is a blended reference to both Chell and Caroline.
  • "You're someone else's trouble" - GLaDOS beingness fed up by Chell past destroying her, putting Wheatley in command and other mistakes. She then tells Chell that she is no longer her trouble.
  • "Oh how we laughed and laughed // Except I wasn't laughing" - In the start line, GLaDOS is existence sarcastic. On the 2nd line she breaks the sarcasm back to the serious climate.
  • "You've got your short sad life left" - GLaDOS is eternal, Chell the homo is not.
  • "That would exist funny if it weren't so sad" - GLaDOS existence sarcastic again.
  • "(Maybe not quite equally heavy)" - {An indirect insult to Chell, a comedic reference to how GLaDOS discouraged Chell by telling her she is "fat".
  • "Under the circumstances I've been shockingly overnice" - GLaDOS usually attempts to kill Chell straight and indirectly, but on the 2d one-half of Portal 2, she helps Chell defeat Wheatley and, surprisingly nice.
  • "One solar day they woke me up // So I could live forever" - GLaDOS is a well sustained and maintained AI reckoner, so she is unsurprisingly immortal.
  • "It'south such a shame the same will never happen to you" - Chell will never be uploaded to a computer, respectively.
  • "Go brand some new disaster" - Referring to Chell destroying the Aperture Science Enrichment Center.
